Maryland football game rescheduled for Friday Night Lights

Maryland football has a successful record in Friday-night games since they were added to the Big Ten schedule, with the Terps winning four of their last five Friday games. Their upcoming game against Northwestern has been moved to Friday, Oct. 11, with an 8 p.m. kickoff, to air on FOX. Maryland has had recent victories against the Wildcats, and is looking to continue their success this season.

Coming off an 8-5 season and a bowl game win, Maryland has the fifth most wins amongst all Big Ten teams over the last two seasons. The team returns key offensive and defensive starters, including All-Big Ten selections in running back Roman Hemby and wide receivers Tai Felton and Kaden Prather. The high-powered Terrapins offense ranked in the top five in the Big Ten in several categories last season.

With the move to Friday night, Maryland will have a shorter turnaround between games, with a bye week after their Sept. 28 game at Indiana. This game also comes right before homecoming, setting the stage for an exciting match-up against USC on Oct. 19 at SECU Stadium.

The Terps will be part of FOX’s Friday night slate, with the Big Ten having nine Friday night slots from Sept. 20 to Nov. 22. Maryland fans can expect an exciting season ahead with a strong team poised to continue their success on the field.
