Dylan Behler chosen to fill Maryland District 30A delegate seat vacancy

The Anne Arundel County Democratic Central Committee has selected Dylan Behler to fill the vacant District 30A delegate seat after Shaneka Henson was promoted to the Maryland Senate. Behler, 26, received 10 votes on Saturday, winning the seat over Chrissy Holt and others. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore must now approve Behler’s appointment.

Behler, a life-long resident of Anne Arundel County, has experience working on political campaigns and as legislative staff. He has expressed his commitment to protecting the environment, building resilient infrastructure, and addressing the cost of living in his new role.

Henson, who was serving her first term as delegate, was appointed to the District 30 Senate seat by Gov. Moore after Sen. Sarah Elfreth was elected to Congress. Behler’s selection comes after a careful consideration by the Democratic Committee, with contributions from Capital reporter Megan Loock.
