Tyler publishes new children’s book with colorful illustrations

Tyler author Cathy Mounce has recently released a children’s book titled ‘Pancake, the Texas Cat,’ a project that has been 30 years in the making. The story follows Mounce’s beloved pet cat, Pancake, from childhood, showcasing her Western style and unique personality. The book, suitable for children aged 2 to 10, emphasizes the importance of being true to oneself and making a difference in the lives of others.

Mounce, a native Texan, drew inspiration from the wild beauty and rich history of the Lone Star State for her writing. With a background in creativity, including writing, photography, and illustration, Mounce has crafted a heartwarming tale that is now available on Amazon for $15.95 in paperback or $9.99 on Kindle e-Book.

Having worked in journalism at a local newspaper, Mounce has a deep appreciation for storytelling and capturing the essence of communities. She will be hosting a book signing event on December 12 at the Rose City Art Gallery in Tyler, where readers can meet the author and purchase signed copies of ‘Pancake, the Texas Cat.’

Through her debut book, Mounce hopes to bring joy and inspiration to children and families, encouraging them to embrace their uniqueness and make a positive impact on others. ‘Pancake, the Texas Cat’ is a heartfelt tribute to Mounce’s furry companion and a testament to the special bond between pets and their owners.
