Police report: Man confesses to murdering girlfriend in Brewers Hill apartment

Gabriel Gomez-Fiorenza, 27, was arrested by police in Baltimore for the deadly shooting of his 28-year-old girlfriend Amy Armstrong inside their luxury apartment in the Brewers Hill neighborhood. The shooting occurred following a domestic dispute between the couple. Gomez-Fiorenza was charged with first and second-degree murder as well as first and second-degree aggravated assault. He admitted to shooting Armstrong and led police to her body in their apartment.

According to police reports, Gomez-Fiorenza and Armstrong had a verbal argument that escalated when Gomez-Fiorenza retrieved an AR-15 rifle from under the bed. Armstrong attempted to intervene, resulting in the gun discharging and fatally striking her in the head. Gomez-Fiorenza then left the apartment with the rifle but was later apprehended after threatening to kill himself in an unrelated incident in Owings Mills.

Neighbors in the Brewers Hill community were shocked by the tragic event, especially upon learning it was a case of domestic violence. Asjoure Brown, the director of stability services at House of Ruth Maryland, emphasized the importance of recognizing early signs of domestic violence, such as controlling behaviors and coercive control.

House of Ruth Maryland, an emergency shelter and domestic violence support non-profit, provides resources and assistance to individuals facing domestic violence situations. The community has rallied together in support of the victim’s family and to raise awareness about the signs of domestic violence.
