Gallery: Capturing the Magic of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – From Santa to Celebrities

The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City celebrated its 100th anniversary with a procession featuring 17 helium-filled character balloons, 22 floats, and performances by marching bands and celebrity guests. Despite rainy weather and chilly temperatures, spectators lined the 2.5-mile route through Manhattan to catch a glimpse of the giant golden turkey, Spider-Man balloon, and Santa Claus on a sled of presents. The parade also included a Statue of Liberty-themed float and clowns entertaining the crowd. Children and adults alike braved the weather, donning plastic ponchos and umbrellas to enjoy the iconic holiday event. The parade, which first took place in 1924, continues to bring joy and wonder to audiences of all ages each Thanksgiving.
