John Handley Joins Race for Maryland House of Delegates in District 12A
COLUMBIA, MD (WBFF) — John Handley has officially announced his candidacy for the Maryland House of Delegates in District 12A. His announcement came via email to supporters and on social media, emphasizing his commitment to Howard County’s future.
Handley stated, “With great joy and a commitment to fulfilling Howard County’s promise of a brighter, stronger, and more equitable future, I humbly announce my candidacy.” His campaign will focus on three key areas: education, economic growth, and public safety.
District 12A, home to over 86,000 residents, will benefit from Handley’s extensive experience in public service. He has spent more than a decade in various leadership roles, including the Maryland Comptroller’s Office as Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff. Additionally, Handley played key roles in high-profile campaigns, such as Doug Gansler’s gubernatorial bid in 2014.
Currently, he serves as Deputy Chief of Staff at a national nonprofit focused on refugee resettlement. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Handley holds degrees in Government and Politics and Public Administration. He resides in Hanover with his wife, Keertana.
