Hollywood Star Mads Mikkelsen Dines at UYARE Leeds

Known for his acclaimed roles in Hannibal, Casino Royale, and Another Round, Mikkelsen visited alongside Oscar-winning editor-turned-director Lee Smith and renowned film producer Pascal Degove to discuss their thrilling upcoming project, Sirus.

The evening was kickstarted with a tantalizing array of South Indian starters, including Masala Fried Cauliflower, crispy Fried Fish, and the signature Kanthari Chicken, renowned for its vibrant green chilli marinade.
For the main course, Mikkelsen savored a robust selection featuring Pothu Koonu Masala (a hearty buffalo curry), Kunjaadu Curry (spiced Kerala-style lamb), and Chemmeen Roast (a fiery king prawn dish), all complemented by flaky Kerala Parathas and sweet Carrot Coconut Rice. He concluded the feast with a classic Cobra Beer, which he later described as a “truly unforgettable culinary experience.”
In a touching moment, Mikkelsen expressed gratitude to Chefs Ajith Kumar and Francis, even taking selfies with the enthusiastic kitchen crew.
Recently buzzing with celebrity patrons, including cricket stars during the India vs. England test match, UYARE has solidified its reputation as a must-visit venue in Leeds. “Our staff are accustomed to high-profile guests,” said a team member, noting their sister restaurant, Tharavadu, has hosted stars like Simon Pegg and Rebel Wilson over the years.
