WEATHER ALERT: Severe Weather Likely as Weekend Wraps Up in Maryland

Severe Storm Threat Looms Over Maryland

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — As the weekend draws to a close, Maryland braces for severe weather, with a frontal system sweeping across the region. Baltimore and northern areas are currently under a marginal risk for severe storms—level one of five—while southern regions face a slightly elevated risk, indicating a likelihood of severe weather.

Rain is expected to hover over the area until midday, with severe storms anticipated to roll in a few hours later, persisting into the early evening. The primary threats include damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall, with isolated tornadoes also a possibility. Residents are urged to remain alert and have contingency plans in place for potential warnings.

Though the hail threat remains minimal, particularly for areas south of Baltimore, vigilance is advised as all forms of severe weather remain a possibility.

Temperatures will be below average this weekend, with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. Following the storms, Monday is forecasted to be mostly dry with temperatures climbing to the low 80s. A return of rain and storms is expected on Tuesday, with conditions stabilizing for the rest of the workweek, featuring highs ranging from the low 80s to low 90s.
