Maryland Man Dies in Five-Vehicle Crash Involving State Trooper on I-95

Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-95 Claims Life of Columbia Man

Howard County, MD – In a tragic accident early Sunday morning, a five-vehicle collision on I-95 resulted in the death of a Columbia resident. According to the Maryland State Police, the crash occurred around 2 a.m. when 25-year-old Saidou Zanguina drove his Jeep into an unmarked state patrol car parked on the highway shoulder near Maryland 100. This initial impact caused his vehicle to collide with three additional cars.

Zanguina was pronounced dead at the scene. A Maryland State Trooper was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries but has since been released. A passenger in Zanguina’s Jeep and the driver of another car involved in the crash were also transported to the hospital for treatment.

Lanes on I-95 were closed for approximately four hours as emergency responders managed the scene, and an investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.

In a related incident on June 6, two people were killed in a separate crash involving a pickup and dump truck in Carroll County. Authorities continue to investigate multiple accidents on Maryland roads that have raised concerns about safety.
