In a thrilling matchup on Thursday night, the Phoenix Mercury rallied to defeat the Golden State Valkyries 86-77, thanks to a standout performance from rookie Lexi Held, who scored a season-high 24 points. The Mercury trailed 76-68 with just over four minutes left but closed the game with an impressive 18-1 run. Held clinched the lead for Phoenix with a deep three-pointer, making it 77-76 near the end of the game. Following a missed free throw by the Valkyries, Satou Sabally rebounded her own attempt and scored while being fouled, converting the three-point play to put Phoenix ahead 80-77.
