House of Ruth Maryland Holds First Annual Resource Fair for Domestic Violence Survivors
On Saturday, House of Ruth Maryland hosted its inaugural resource fair at the Community Engagement Center on North Charles Street, aiming to connect women with vital community resources. This event was designed to empower individuals facing intimate partner violence by offering immediate support and services.
"The House of Ruth Maryland is dedicated to assisting those dealing with intimate partner violence," stated Vivian Ebisike, community engagement specialist. The nonprofit provides a range of services, including legal aid, grocery assistance, and rental support, to help women navigate their challenging circumstances.
In addition to these services, the organization offers safety planning and operates a shelter with over 80 beds for individuals in crisis. The resource fair was a significant step in demonstrating to survivors that they are not alone and that support is readily available within the community.
