Bodycam Footage Captures Woman Plowing Through Roadblock into Maryland Street Festival

Press Release: Disturbing Incident at Laurel’s Main Street Festival

Laurel, MD – A chaotic scene unfolded at Laurel’s Main Street Festival on Saturday when a woman drove through barriers, colliding with a police officer following a propane tank explosion that had caused a delay in the festival schedule. Body-camera footage revealed 28-year-old Kai Deberry-Bostick tearing down caution tape and engaging in a heated argument with police before striking an officer and driving briefly into a crowd. The officer sustained minor injuries, though thankfully no others were hurt. Deberry-Bostick now faces multiple charges, including assault and reckless endangerment.

The earlier propane tank explosion, described by Mayor Keith Sydnor as a "negligent accident," occurred as a vendor was setting up for the event. While a man sustained minor injuries from the explosion, city officials are investigating the incident.

In a related note, the city is set to host the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course this Saturday, featuring performances from renowned artists, including Jadakiss and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. This celebration marks the last race at the course before extensive renovations begin.
