Maryland Made Partners with Team IMPACT for Educational Innovation

In an exciting initiative set to kick off before the 2024-25 school year, Maryland Made has teamed up with Team IMPACT, aiming to enhance educational experiences for children facing serious health challenges. This collaboration brings together passionate student-athletes who will make a significant difference in their communities.

The new cohort includes standout student-athletes Reese Delp (field hockey), Robert Smith (football), Alexa Rothenbuescher (gymnastics), Isabella Ferraccio, and Julia Garcia. Team IMPACT is dedicated to alleviating the emotional trauma and social isolation that children with chronic illnesses often experience by facilitating relationships between them and college athletic teams.

Reese Delp and Robert Smith, who are returning fellows, have expressed enthusiasm for their involvement. Delp, reflecting on her previous experiences, noted that the program has provided her with invaluable insights into community engagement and effective collaboration. “I saw and deeply admired the incredible and impactful work Team IMPACT was doing and wanted to be a part of it,” she said. "I now feel better equipped to utilize my time and collaborate with other fellows to elevate Team IMPACT in our communities."

This partnership not only enhances the mission of Team IMPACT but also inspires a new generation of leaders within the Maryland community. As these student-athletes step into their roles, the promise of innovation and inspiration is set to unfold, paving the way for transformative experiences for both the fellows and the children they serve.

Stay tuned as Maryland Made and Team IMPACT embark on this groundbreaking journey, fostering lasting connections and uplifting the lives of many.
