Maryland Man Charged with Kidnapping After Kidnapping Incident
A Maryland man has been charged with kidnapping following an incident in Georgetown on May 3. Police report that Michael Stills, from Hurlock, Maryland, allegedly abducted a man after the victim intervened to prevent an assault on another individual.
After being taken against his will, the victim escaped the suspect’s vehicle at a Motel 6 in Seaford, approximately an hour following the kidnapping. Seaford police contacted Georgetown authorities, who promptly began an investigation. The victim was rescued and identified Stills as the perpetrator.
On May 6, Stills was apprehended by Dover police during a traffic stop and subsequently turned over to Georgetown police. He now faces charges including first-degree kidnapping, terroristic threatening, and offensive touching. Stills is currently held on a $26,500 cash bail at the Sussex Correctional Facility.
