Rain Expected in Maryland on Thursday; Wonderful Weather Forecasted for Mother’s Day Weekend

Pleasant Spring Weather Set to Change Across Central Maryland

Tonight, central Maryland can expect a tranquil evening with partly to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the comfortable 50s. Areas along the Bayshore may see temperatures near 60 degrees, perfect for enjoying the night with open windows and light jackets. However, a shift in weather is on the horizon as a new system approaches from the west.

On Thursday, cloud cover will intensify, leading to scattered showers and thunderstorms by afternoon. While severe weather is unlikely, some stronger storms could produce small hail, brief downpours, and gusty winds. Afternoon highs are anticipated in the upper 70s, though localized cooling may occur during the rain.

The unsettled weather will continue into Thursday night, with increasing rain coverage into Friday, resulting in cooler temperatures in the 60s. Those with outdoor plans should prepare for damp conditions.

Fortunately, by Saturday, improving weather will coincide with Mother’s Day weekend, as high pressure brings sunshine and temperatures in the mid-70s. Sunday promises continued beautiful weather, with highs near 80 degrees, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities.

Next week, expect a return to mild temperatures, although rain chances will increase again by Monday night.
