Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Baltimore Region

BALTIMORE — As rain began to pour over the Baltimore area Monday evening, residents were advised to remain vigilant as a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until midnight. The National Weather Service warns of potential heavy downpours, gusty winds, and even hail.

Initial scattered rain in the morning is expected to intensify in the afternoon, with the most severe conditions likely developing between 7 PM and 11 PM. Temperatures will hover in the low 70s during the day before dropping into the 60s overnight.

Looking ahead, the week will feature continued chances for rain and sporadic storms, with temperatures ranging from the mid to upper 70s.

Baltimore Gas and Electric has cautioned customers about potential power outages due to storm-related damage to utility lines. Residents are encouraged to report outages via the BGE website or their mobile app. Those observing downed power lines should never approach them and are urged to contact BGE immediately.
