Chiawana High School in Pasco, Washington, is hosting an “International Night” on Thursday, April 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event, part of a 40-year global partnership with the Yamate exchange program, will feature live performances from nearly 40 Japanese students visiting the school. Attendees can also enjoy cultural games and activities for the whole family. The event aims to promote cultural exchange and build lifelong friendships among students. Kim Lehrman, a chaperone with the program and art teacher at Chiawana High School, emphasized the importance of sharing diverse cultures and breaking down barriers. Additionally, Pasco will be celebrating its community’s diversity on May 5th at City Hall with a proclamation for “AAPI Heritage Month.” The event is free and open to the public.
