Emergency officials in Queen Anne’s and Worcester counties in Maryland were busy over the weekend responding to cow rescues in two separate incidents. In Queen Anne’s, deputies from the county sheriff’s office responded to a call about a cow named Duncan wandering around. The deputies stayed with him until his owners were able to safely take him home.
Meanwhile, in Worcester County, the Stockton Volunteer Fire Company, along with assistance from Pocomoke City and Girdletree Volunteer Fire Companies, responded to a call about a distressed cow that had accidentally fallen into an in-ground swimming pool on a property in Grange Road. After a successful rescue operation, the cow was safely removed from the pool.
Both incidents highlight the dedication and quick response of emergency officials in ensuring the safety and well-being of animals in distress. The Stockton VFD and the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff were praised for their efforts in helping these farm animals in need of assistance.
