Maryland state receives $4.4 million in revenue from sports betting in March


Maryland’s sports wagering market in March 2025 contributed $4,419,403 to the state, bringing the total contributions for the first nine months of Fiscal Year 2025 to $65,590,694. This is a significant increase from the same period in FY2024, when contributions were $41,905,251. The state’s share of sports wagering proceeds goes to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, which supports public education programs.

During March 2025, sports bettors in Maryland wagered $588,500,308 and won back $540,648,347 in prizes, with sportsbook operators holding 8.1% of the handle. Operators pay 15% of their taxable proceeds to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund. The state had 11 mobile sports wagering platforms and 12 retail sportsbook locations in operation during the month.
