Driftwood Capital’s DLLUX Division Amplifies Luxury and Lifestyle Portfolio
Driftwood Capital has made a significant move in the luxury, lifestyle, and branded residences sector by launching its Driftwood Lifestyle & Luxury Division (DLLUX) in February. This division aims to enhance management, investment, and development services within the sector, where the firm has already invested over $2 billion since 2019. DLLUX will oversee 12 assets previously managed by Driftwood Hospitality Management, eight of which are owned by Driftwood-sponsored funds.
Alinio Azevedo, Managing Director of Luxury and Lifestyle Investments at DLLUX, expressed the firm’s strategic shift towards the luxury and branded residences sector in an exclusive interview. He highlighted the increasing demand for immersive and high-end travel experiences, as well as the resilience and growth potential of this segment. Azevedo also emphasized the emergence of trends like sustainability-focused luxury developments and the continued growth of branded residences.
With the launch of the Driftwood Lifestyle & Luxury Fund (DLLX), Driftwood Capital is set to deploy over $3 billion in capital towards acquiring, developing, and lending on luxury and lifestyle hospitality assets, including branded residential properties. Azevedo mentioned the fund’s focus on operational excellence and creating unique guest experiences tailored to modern travelers’ desires.
By curating high-potential markets, investing in experiential properties, incorporating branded residential components, and leveraging technology-driven operations, Driftwood Capital aims to optimize the performance of the DLLUX portfolio. The luxury and lifestyle sector is evolving, and Driftwood Capital is positioning itself to capitalize on the growing demand for high-end travel experiences and personalized services in this market.
