University of Maryland School of Nursing Ranked in Top 10 Nationwide


The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) has once again solidified its position as a top-tier institution, securing a spot among the top 10 public nursing schools in the nation in all six categories in the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Graduate Schools.” Out of 285 accredited nursing schools surveyed, UMSON’s academic excellence was highlighted across multiple programs. Their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Nursing Leadership and Management specialty both achieved the No. 1 spot nationwide among public schools for the second year in a row. The MSN program overall and the DNP Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialty also saw improvements in their rankings. UMSON’s dedication to advancing the field of nursing through education and research has been reaffirmed by these rankings. Yolanda Ogbolu, the Bill and Joanne Conway Dean of the University of Maryland School of Nursing, expressed immense pride in the school’s students, faculty, and staff for their dedication and excellence.
