The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration has announced the start of resurfacing work on southbound MD 2/4 (Solomons Island Road) between Cox Road and MD 263 (Plum Point Road) starting Thursday night, March 27. The project is expected to be completed by mid-summer, with overnight single-lane closures scheduled from Sundays to Thursdays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The contractor, Holcim-MAR, Inc. of Greenbelt, will use signage and traffic control measures to guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers are advised to anticipate lane closures and traffic shifts while the work is ongoing and can contact the District 5 Office with any questions.
