Great-grandfather with Alzheimer’s disease and vision problems, Richard Wilson Jr., was found dead in water two months after going missing in Maryland. Wilson, 86, had left his Waldorf home for a walk on Jan. 25 and never returned. His body was discovered in Fort Washington near the Potomac River. Wilson’s family had desperately tried to locate him through phone calls and cooperation with law enforcement. He may have been trying to walk to a shopping center in Oxon Hill, where he enjoyed playing keno and the lottery. Wilson had worked at Saint Elizabeths Hospital in D.C. for 42 years before retiring. An autopsy will determine his cause of death. The heartbreaking update was shared by Maryland officials, expressing condolences to Wilson’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. Multiple law enforcement agencies had conducted an extensive search using various resources before his body was found.
