Men’s bracket top seeds awarded to Auburn, Duke, Houston, and Florida


On Selection Sunday, the Auburn Tigers were named the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, alongside the Duke Blue Devils, Houston Cougars, and Florida Gators as the other No. 1 seeds. The bracket revealed the tournament schedule starting with the First Four on Tuesday, followed by the opening round on Thursday. The North Carolina Tar Heels were one of the bubble teams to make it in, earning the 11th seed in the South Region. Other bubble teams that made it include Texas, Xavier, and San Diego State. Teams left out of the tournament included Indiana, Ohio State, West Virginia, and Boise State.

The SEC had a record-breaking 14 teams make it into the tournament, making it the most bids by a single conference in NCAA men’s history. The first and second rounds of the tournament will take place from Thursday through March 23, followed by the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight from March 27 through March 30. The Final Four will be in San Antonio, with the national semifinals on April 5 and the championship game on April 7.
