A 37-year-old man named Jeffrey Zinne died after falling from a chairlift at Red Lodge Mountain ski resort in Montana. Zinne was riding alone when the incident occurred and was taken to a local hospital where he passed away the following night. The resort expressed condolences to Zinne’s family and said they are prioritizing safety with their lifts, which had a mechanical issue at the time of the accident. The Triple Chair lift was shut down, and ski patrol had to lower over 100 people to the ground using ropes. The resort stated that they perform regular safety measures on their lifts and will reopen the Triple Chair lift when it is deemed safe to do so. The resort and the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office have not yet made any additional comments on the incident.
