Jessica Nodal – Volleyball Assistant Athletic Trainer


Jessica Nodal, a highly qualified and experienced athletic trainer, has recently joined the University of Maryland’s sports medicine team. With a background in Athletic Training and Kinesiology, Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.

Prior to joining the University of Maryland, Jessica spent three years at the University of South Florida, where she was the primary athletic trainer for the volleyball program. During her time at USF, Jessica implemented innovative injury prevention protocols, such as chronic workload management plans and the use of VERT Systems for training load analysis. She also played a crucial role in developing and executing COVID-19 protocols for the volleyball team, working closely with physicians, coaches, and administrators.

Jessica’s dedication to her work and passion for sports medicine is evident in her educational background. She holds a Master of Science in Advance Athletic Training with a focus in Pediatric Sports Medicine from USF, as well as a Dual Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

As a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and Maryland Licensed Athletic Trainer, Jessica is well-equipped to provide top-notch care to Maryland’s student-athletes. In addition to her professional qualifications, Jessica is actively involved in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and holds certifications in CPR/AED technique, IV Therapy, and the Female Body Project.

Originally from Las Vegas, Jessica now resides in Riverdale and enjoys hiking, good coffee, and meeting new dogs. Her passion for athletic training and commitment to the well-being of athletes make her a valuable addition to the University of Maryland’s sports medicine team.
