Lori Vallow Daybell believes she will be cleared of her children’s killings

Lori Vallow Daybell, in her first media interview, showed no remorse for the murder of her children and said she feels great acting as her own attorney in her upcoming trial over the fatal shooting of her estranged husband. Both Lori and her husband Chad Daybell were convicted in the murders of Lori’s children and Chad’s previous wife, with Chad sentenced to death and Lori given multiple life sentences without parole. The prosecutors in the case described the motive as money, sex, and power. Lori’s brother, Alex Cox, who is now deceased, likely killed the victims. Lori and Chad were exonerated because Jesus showed her the future, she claimed. Her husband discovered her affair with Chad before his death and tried to change his life insurance policy, which caused Lori distress. Lori has also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder in her estranged husband’s death and will be tried separately for trying to kill her niece’s estranged husband. She has pleaded not guilty in both cases. The remains of Lori’s children were found on Chad’s property and she denied that Chad labeled the children as “dark.” The death of Chad’s previous wife, initially attributed to natural causes, was later found to be a homicide by asphyxiation. Lori maintains her innocence in this case. Lori is now set to stand trial in her estranged husband’s killing and will act as her own attorney, with jury selection scheduled to begin soon.
