Two high school girls in Houston area accused of plotting pipe bomb attack

Two teenage girls, aged 15 and 16, were arrested for allegedly planning a “mass casualty attack” at a Houston-area high school. The FBI received information about the plot and worked with local law enforcement to identify and apprehend the suspects. The girls were reportedly in the early stages of planning the attack, which involved using guns and pipe bombs at Memorial High School in Hedwig Village. The 16-year-old suspect was a former student at the school, while the 15-year-old attended Willis High School. The Willis Independent School District commended the FBI and law enforcement for their quick action in preventing harm to students and staff. Additional security measures were implemented at Memorial High School following the arrests.

The 16-year-old suspect was charged with making a terroristic threat, while the 15-year-old was in custody for unrelated charges. Law enforcement emphasized the importance of awareness and vigilance in protecting schools from potential threats of violence. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office stated that threats of violence in schools will not be tolerated and that the matter is being treated with urgency and commitment. This incident highlights the necessity of working together to ensure the safety of students and prevent harm from those intending to cause harm.
