Jamila Campbell, a woman from Columbia, Maryland, is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing two puppies from a home in Lancaster County. The incident occurred on February 13 in Christiana Borough, where Campbell had arranged to buy two Toy Poodle puppies from the victim. Before the meeting, the victim noticed a suspicious white U-Haul van circling her residence. Campbell arrived on foot and asked for water, but when the victim went to get it, Campbell ran off with the puppies.
Police connected Campbell to the stolen U-Haul van and also linked her to a separate theft in Hershey, PA on the same day. Witnesses saw Campbell with the stolen puppies at a shopping outlet and identified her from surveillance footage. Campbell has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property, and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
