Elite four-star safety Jireh Edwards has announced five upcoming visits to top football programs including Maryland. Ranked No. 39 nationally and No. 4 at his position, Edwards, a Maryland native, will hear the Terrapins’ recruiting pitch on May 30. The list of visits also includes Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M, and Oregon. Scout Andrew Ivins praises Edwards’ punishing defense and versatility, projecting him as a playmaker on the field. Coach Mike Locksley, who led Maryland to a No. 25 ranked recruiting class in 2025, has already secured a commitment from five-star edge rusher Zion Elee and is pursuing five-star offensive lineman Immanuel Iheanacho, both also Maryland natives. Keeping these elite prospects home could transform the Terps into playoff contenders. Stay tuned for updates on Maryland football by following Maryland Terrapins on SI.
