Maryland Women’s Golf Adds Celeste Mangeat to 2025-26 Roster
Maryland women’s golf head coach Kelly Hovland recently announced the signing of Celeste Mangeat from Geneva, Switzerland to the roster for the 2025-26 season. Mangeat, who attended Ecole Moser, has an impressive golf resume, having been named to the Swiss National Girls Team for the past three years and finishing 12th in the European Girls Team Championship in 2023 and 2024.
Coach Hovland praised Mangeat’s experience at the highest level of European Junior golf, stating that it will help her transition to Big Ten golf quickly. He also highlighted her leadership skills, developed through her participation on the Swiss national team, as essential for the success of the Maryland team. In her own words, Mangeat expressed her reasons for choosing Maryland, citing the coaching staff, campus, and proximity to Washington D.C. as key factors in her decision.
This signing comes on the heels of two other recent additions to the University of Maryland women’s golf team – Emily McKee from Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and Noa Terroba Toro from Malaga, Spain, who both signed National Letters of Intent last month. With these talented recruits joining the team, the program looks set to continue its upward trajectory and compete at a high level in the upcoming seasons.
