Trump demands schools to stop receiving federal funding if they mandate Covid vaccines

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday halting federal funds for schools that require students to be vaccinated against coronavirus before they can attend classes in person. The order prohibits federal funding for schools with Covid vaccine mandates. The decision to vaccinate should be up to a student’s parents, according to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

Trump’s administration has already taken steps to end coronavirus vaccine requirements at the federal level and reinstated service members who were discharged for refusing the vaccine. Currently, Covid vaccines are no longer required in K-12 schools across the country. Trump’s health secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a vaccine critic, was recently sworn in and has promised to address chronic diseases while maintaining vaccine access.

During the signing of the executive order, Trump also established a new energy council to ramp up domestic oil and gas production. He praised Vice President JD Vance’s speech in Europe, calling it brilliant. Trump also mentioned a potential meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in the coming weeks.

Regarding the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement, Trump said the outcome is dependent on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with uncertainty surrounding the truce. Hamas has indicated a willingness to release hostages, with Trump setting a deadline for them to do so.
