Jewish Museum of Maryland reopens after 18-month renovation

The Jewish Museum of Maryland in Baltimore has reopened after a year and a half of renovations. The museum now offers a new visitor experience with features such as a central arcade, a production studio, and space for exhibits. Currently on display is a music exhibit curated by a local historian and copies of the museum’s magazine publication from 1978 to 2012. Despite a fire incident at the front entrance last August, no artifacts were damaged, and the renovations continued. The museum, which houses over 12,000 objects and 100,000 pictures, is encouraging public engagement by inviting individuals with a Jewish background in Maryland to submit family photos for display. The museum is open to visitors on Sundays from 10am-4pm and Mondays-Wednesdays from 12pm-4pm. Located on Lloyd St., the museum aims to preserve and showcase the rich history of the Jewish community in Baltimore through its collections and interactive exhibits.
