Australian band, Confidence Man, has found a special connection with their British fans, who understand their “campy dryness” instinctively, according to band member Bones. The band has even received wedding invitations from fans and have had unique encounters at shows, such as one fan in Bristol asking band member Planet to spit champagne into his mouth, which he happily obliged. The fan described it as the best moment of his life.
Despite their success and adoration in the UK, the band faces some criticism back home in Australia, especially from older audiences who may not fully grasp their eccentricity. However, Confidence Man has found a welcoming and enthusiastic fan base in the UK, with a special connection that Bones describes as an “instant understanding” that has always been present.
The band has also expressed their love for their new hometown in the UK, with Bones mentioning that while he wishes pubs would stay open later, he still finds the London nightlife to be better than what he experienced in Australia. Confidence Man continues to captivate audiences with their unique and energetic performances, bridging the gap between Australian and British music scenes with their infectious blend of music and theatrics.
