Suspect in Maryland activist’s murder to stay in custody


Terrell Bailey, a father of four and a Private Contracted Special Police Officer in D.C., appeared before a judge in Prince George County, Virginia, after being arrested for the shooting death of 33-year-old community activist Cornelius McDonald. The judge ruled that Bailey be held without bond. The incident occurred outside a Maryland restaurant where the two men, who did not know each other, got into an argument. McDonald had initially tried to break up a fight inside the restaurant before being shot multiple times by Bailey outside. Bailey has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court on January 2, 2025. The tragic event has shocked the community, shedding light on the dangers of gun violence and the importance of conflict resolution.
