Five individuals, including four juveniles, were arrested as police cracked down on 10 large-scale illegal driving events in Central Maryland over the weekend. The Maryland State Police issued a statement confirming the arrests. Among those arrested was 18-year-old Josue Emanuel Hernandez Cordon of Laurel, MD, who was charged with reckless, aggressive, and negligent driving, as well as other traffic offenses and possession of a replica firearm. Four juveniles, aged 15 to 17, were also taken into custody, and two firearms were recovered from them. The stolen vehicle used by the juveniles was believed to have been involved in other illegal driving events and potentially an armed robbery in Washington D.C.
The operations were conducted by the Maryland Car Rally Task Force, working in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies across the region. The events were stopped in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Howard, and Prince George’s counties over the span of one night. Investigations are ongoing into the incidents.
