The No. 4 Penn State football team secured their spot in the Big Ten Championship game with a dominating 44-7 victory over Maryland on senior day in Happy Valley. The Nittany Lions finished the regular season with an 8-1 conference record and will face No. 1 Oregon in the championship game on December 7 in Indianapolis. This win marks the 16th time Penn State has reached 11 wins in a season and the seventh time with 11 regular-season wins. The team was led by quarterback Drew Allar and tight end Tyler Warren, who set records for most receiving touchdowns by a tight end in Penn State history and the most single-season receptions by a Big Ten tight end. Defensively, Penn State outgained Maryland and forced three turnovers. Linebacker Abdul Carter led the team with six tackles. The Nittany Lions will be looking to secure their first Big Ten Championship title since 2016 when they face off against Oregon.
