Six people were rescued from a collapsed home in Jefferson City, Missouri, after an unexplained explosion caused extensive damage. The victims were taken to University Hospital with moderate to severe injuries, with some in critical condition. The rescue operation was challenging due to the significant debris and structural collapse. Emergency responders, including the Special Operations Rescue Team, had to use specialized equipment to tunnel through the rubble to reach the victims. The entire operation took over three hours and also involved rescuing two pets from the wreckage. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation. The hospital did not provide an update on the patients’ condition. The Jefferson City Fire Department highlighted the importance of training and having the necessary equipment to handle such emergencies. Despite the challenging circumstances, all six individuals were successfully rescued from the collapsed home. Jefferson City is the state capital of Missouri, located about 133 miles west of St. Louis.
