Carroll County municipal officials gathered at the Maryland Municipal League’s fall legislative conference in early November at the Cambridge Chesapeake Bay conference facilities. The conference attracted over 420 local government leaders from across Maryland and featured workshops and sessions to discuss issues facing municipal citizens and prepare for the upcoming regular session of the Maryland General Assembly. The event had approximately 40 exhibitors and offered educational and training opportunities for municipal leaders.
The Maryland Municipal League, founded in 1936, advocates for strengthening municipal government and represents officials from 160 cities and towns in Maryland. Discussions at the conference focused on modern challenges faced by government and business leaders, such as the complexity of doing business and the need to reimagine customer service and communication.
Topics covered at the conference included working with state officials, rising costs of electricity, and the state budget outlook. Municipal officials shared best practices and solutions to enhance the quality of life for citizens. The MML announced that the 2025 fall conference will be held at Wisp in Western Maryland in October 2025.
