Maryland Welcomes New Hall of Fame Class of 2024


The University of Maryland’s Athletics Department and the M Club recently inducted eight outstanding athletes into the University of Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2024. The inductees include Lonny Baxter (men’s basketball), Patty Corson Robbins (women’s swimming), Jill Fisher-Galli (gymnastics), Patrick Mullins (men’s soccer), Katie Schwarzmann (women’s lacrosse), Alyssa Thomas (women’s basketball), Autumn Welsh Kelly (field hockey), and Lee Zink (men’s lacrosse).

The Hall of Fame, founded in 1982, pays tribute to Terrapin athletes, coaches, and administrators who have made significant contributions to the honor and fame of the University of Maryland. The inductees have excelled in their respective sports and have demonstrated positive values both on and off the field.

The M Club also presented Honorary M Awards to Dr. Bradley Hatfield, Lauri Kenis, and Scott Weitz, as well as the Distinguished Citizen of the Year award to Harvey Sanders for their dedication to Maryland athletics.

Each inductee has an impressive list of accomplishments in their respective sports, including championships, awards, and records. Many have also gone on to have successful professional careers in their respective sports.

The induction ceremony was a celebration of the remarkable achievements and contributions of these exceptional individuals to Maryland Athletics. The inductees have left an indelible mark on the University of Maryland, and their induction represents the highest athletic honor that the University can bestow.
