Maryland Department of Natural Resources is offering youth, veteran, and military personnel special waterfowl hunting days on November 2, 2024 and February 8, 2025. These days are meant to encourage the sharing of the conservation legacy with youths and veterans, creating future conservationists who appreciate Maryland’s wildlife habitats. Participants must be 16 years old or younger, military veterans, or active duty Armed Forces members, with appropriate licenses and permits.
Youth hunters must be accompanied by an adult or eligible military personnel/veteran, and all participants must have the necessary hunting licenses. Adult hunters will need both a Maryland Migratory Game Bird Stamp and a Federal Duck Stamp, while youth hunters only need the Maryland stamp if under 16. Bag limits for the special hunting days are the same as regular seasons.
Licenses, stamps, and permits can be purchased online, by phone, at a Department of Natural Resources Service Center, or at various Sport License Agents statewide. For any questions, hunters can contact the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Wildlife and Heritage Service.
This initiative aims to promote the tradition of waterfowl hunting while also encouraging mentorship and conservation efforts among Maryland’s youth, veterans, and military personnel. It provides a special opportunity for these individuals to engage in outdoor activities and appreciate the state’s diverse wildlife habitats.
