Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert reaggravated his high-ankle sprain during the team’s 20-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Despite starting the game strong with a touchdown pass to Quentin Johnson, Herbert struggled with only 125 passing yards before leaving the game early in the third quarter. The Chargers, who were previously 2-0, failed to score again, with the ground game also performing poorly. Herbert, who had been dealing with the ankle injury since Week 2, left the stadium in a walking boot after being removed from the game by coach Jim Harbaugh due to signs of limping. The loss marked the Chargers’ first of the season, while the Steelers maintained their undefeated record with a strong performance from quarterback Justin Fields. Moving forward, the Chargers will need to monitor Herbert’s ankle injury closely to ensure he is able to recover and return to the field at full strength.
