Maryland’s future nonconference football schedule is taking shape, with the addition of local opponents Delaware and Towson for games in 2028 and 2030. The Terps will host both teams on Saturdays in September, with Delaware set to join Conference USA as an FBS program by the time they face Maryland. The Blue Hens have a history of success at the non-FBS level, with multiple national titles.
Maryland has a history with both Delaware and Towson, holding a positive record against both teams. The Terps have won the last four meetings against Delaware, with their most recent matchup in 2008 resulting in a 14-7 victory. Maryland has faced Towson three times since 2011, coming out on top in each meeting.
Head coach Mike Locksley, an alumnus of Towson, will lead Maryland against his alma mater in 2030, adding a personal element to the game. The Terps’ nonconference schedule is now set through 2028, including a matchup against Virginia Tech, as well as the games against Towson and Delaware. Additional games against Wake Forest in 2030 round out the nonconference slate.
