Harris is set to rally in Milwaukee, marking her first campaign event since launching her presidential bid

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to visit Milwaukee, Wisconsin for her first rally in her presidential campaign, marking her ninth visit to the state during her vice presidential term and her fifth this year. She aims to contrast former President Donald Trump, whom she calls a convicted felon dragging the country backwards, with her own vision for a brighter future. Following President Joe Biden’s endorsement of Harris after his withdrawal from the race, the majority of pledged Democratic convention delegates have also endorsed her. The campaign has raised $100 million in just two days, with a majority of donors being first-time contributors. Harris is joined by Democratic officials including Gov. Tony Evers, Sen. Tammy Baldwin, and Attorney General Josh Kaul at the rally. The campaign has 48 coordinated offices across 43 counties in the state with 160 full-time staffers working to build support for Harris and other state Democrats leading up to the November election. At a White House event on Monday, Harris focused on Biden’s leadership rather than her campaign, as she gears up to make her case to Wisconsin voters for a brighter future under her leadership.
