Apple has released an update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser meant for testing features that may be introduced in future versions of Safari. The new release, Safari Technology Preview 198, includes fixes and updates for various aspects such as CSS, Forms, JavaScript, and WebRTC. It is compatible with macOS Sonoma and macOS Sequoia beta.
The update can be downloaded through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences or System Settings. The purpose of Safari Technology Preview is to gather feedback from developers and users on the browser development process. It can run alongside the existing Safari browser and does not require a developer account to download.
In other news, Apple has reclassified the iPhone X, first-generation HomePod, and first-generation AirPods as “vintage” products. These products have not been sold for more than five but less than seven years. Apple Stores and Service Providers will continue to offer support for these products.
Additionally, Apple is likely to introduce paid subscriptions for some of its artificial intelligence features in the future. While Apple Intelligence will initially be free, there are plans to launch a paid service, similar to iCloud+, with extra features for users to access.
