Amory Hills chooses Maryland Terps over familiar rivals

Maryland football continues its commitment spree with the addition of in-state lineman Amory Hills from Milford Mill Academy. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound rising senior chose the Terps over offers from Virginia Tech and Penn State. Hills is a three-star prospect and the No. 100 interior lineman in the 247Sports rankings for the Class of 2025. He is also a standout wrestler and finished third in the state championship.

Hills is the 18th recruit to join Maryland football’s 2025 recruiting class, which has seen a surge in commitments in recent weeks. He is the third offensive lineman to join the class, which is focusing on quality prospects after signing a large number of offensive linemen in the previous recruiting class. Head coach Mike Locksley is targeting four-star prospects, with several being recruited by quarterback Malik Washington.

Washington, who recently committed to Maryland, expressed his desire to keep local talent at home and build a strong program with players he has known throughout his life. The program has been successful in recruiting against regional rivals such as Penn State and Virginia Tech, with Washington choosing Maryland over these schools. The commitment of Hills adds depth to the Terps’ recruiting class and strengthens the team for the future.
