BALTIMORE – The weather in Baltimore is expected to be dry and warm leading up to the Fourth of July. Wednesday afternoon has been pleasant with warm temperatures and tolerable humidity levels. The forecast for the evening and overnight hours remains clear and comfortable, making it a great time for outdoor activities.
However, Thursday, the Fourth of July, will bring hot and muggy weather to the area with temperatures reaching the mid-90s and heat index values making it feel like 100-103 degrees. Thunderstorms are expected to develop in the afternoon, with the best chance for scattered storms occurring from 2 PM to 8 PM. These storms could bring heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds. By late evening, the storms are expected to subside.
Friday will bring another hot and muggy day with the potential for storms in the late afternoon and evening, especially in western zones. Temperatures could reach 105 degrees with the heat index.
The holiday weekend will continue to be hot, with Saturday seeing the best chance for storms and humidity. There is a possibility of strong to severe storms with damaging winds and heavy rainfall. By Sunday and Monday, the humidity will decrease with sunny and hot weather in the lower to middle 90s. However, heat, humidity, and thunderstorms are expected to return to the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week.
